Come into a comfortable cross-legged seat with one heel stacked in front of the other,
palms on the knees.
Close the eyes, root the tailbone deep into the earth, and lift the spine tall, opening
the crown of your head to the sky.
Start to connect to your breath and where it lives inside your body.
Begin yu jai breathing.
Deepen and expand the breath.
Be present to what is.
Allow thoughts to come and go without judgment and return to your breath.
Seek out any areas of tension in the body and each time you inhale, imagine that you
are breathing new life into those places.
As you exhale, see the old stagnant energy leaving your body, letting go of what you
no longer need.
Imagine that you are a tall tree with your roots spreading wide and deep into the earth
below.
Your torso is the strong trunk lengthening up to support the beautiful branches that
reach up towards the sun.
Breathe into this image and connect deeply with the earth, visualizing your root chakra,
muladhara, a brilliant ruby red at the base of the spine.
Then travel upwards through all of the chakras growing taller, lengthening the spine until
you come to the crown of your head and see a brilliant white light opening wide to receive
heaven energy.
